The winner will perform as a soloist at our Saturday April 18, 2026, 7:00 p.m. and Sunday April 19, 2026, 3:00 p.m. concerts and will be awarded a scholarship. Summer Music Camp Monday – Friday, June 23-27, 2025 at Rose Center for the Arts at Lower Columbia College. Middle school and high school students will experience an adventure in playing instruments with other musicians and eventually performing in a concert over a 5 day period The camp will be directed by local experienced conductors and coaches and is geared for experienced musicians in middle school and high school (grades 6-12). Click Here for more information Click here to register Strings Class Mondays During School Year Please complete this form to sign up your student for the Youth Strings Program sponsored by the Southwest Washington Symphony. The group meets Mondays at 4:30pm (beginners) or 5:30pm (some experience) in person at Monticello Middle School in Longview, Washington. Limit 10 students per session. More sessions may be added to accommodate more students. The The Spring 2024 Session starting date is 4/8/24 and it ends on 6/3/24. Please have an instrument (violin, viola, cello, or bass), Suzuki Volume 1, and folding music stand by that date. Fall Concerts Saturday, October 18, 2025, 7:00 p.m. & Sunday, October 19, 2025, 3:00 p.m. Held at LCC’s Wollenberg Auditorium, these season opening concerts will celebrate the 150th anniversary of Ravel’s birth with his Piano Concerto in G Major and his songs on the legendary Don Quichotte, as well as Edward Elgar’s beloved Enigma Variations. Christmas Concerts Saturday, December 13, 2025, 7:00 p.m. & Sunday, December 14, 2025, 3:00 p.m. The Symphony and Symphony Chorale return to the Longview Community Church for their annual benefit concerts for local charities. Children’s Concerts Thursday, January 29, 2026 The Symphony will present its annual Children’s Concerts to 2400 fourth and fifth grade students in the beautiful Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts. These three concerts are made possible by the generous venue sponsorship of the Columbia Theatre, grant awards from Community Foundation for Southwest Washington, the Rotary Club of Longview, and the Kelso Public Schools Foundation. Family Concert: Once Upon a Tune Sunday, February 1, 2026, 3:00 The Symphony will present stories in sound, including a delightful narrated setting of John Lithgow’s children’s tale “The Remarkable Sparkle McBride,” music from The Little Mermaid, The Sound of Music, and Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, as well as The Moldau by Smetana.
