The winner will perform as a soloist at our Saturday April 12, 2025, 7:00 p.m. and Sunday April 13, 2025, 3:00 p.m. concerts and will be awarded a scholarship. Strings Class Mondays During School Year Please complete this form to sign up your student for the Youth Strings Program sponsored by the Southwest Washington Symphony. The group meets Mondays at 4:30pm (beginners) or 5:30pm (some experience) in person at Monticello Middle School in Longview, Washington. Limit 10 students per session. More sessions may be added to accommodate more students. The The Spring 2024 Session starting date is 4/8/24 and it ends on 6/3/24. Please have an instrument (violin, viola, cello, or bass), Suzuki Volume 1, and folding music stand by that date. Please note, part of the Suzuki method is that parents/guardians are asked to stay and observe the lessons. Please email radavis1111@me.com if you have any schedule conflicts. Fall Concerts Saturday, October 19, 2024, 7:00 p.m. & Sunday, October 20, 2024, 3:00 p.m. The Southwest Washington Symphony joins forces with the Vancouver Master Chorale to present Verdi’s epic Requiem. The Saturday venue is LCC Wollenberg Auditorium and the Sunday venue is Skyview HS Auditorium, 1300 NW 139th St, Vancouver, WA. Christmas Concerts Saturday, December 14, 2024, 7:00 p.m. & Sunday, December 15, 2024, 3:00 p.m. The Symphony and Symphony Chorale return to the Longview Community Church for their annual benefit concert for local charities. Children’s Concerts Thursday, January 30, 2025 The Symphony will present its annual Children’s Concerts to 2400 fourth and fifth grade students in the beautiful Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts. These three concerts are made possible by the generous venue sponsorship of the Columbia Theatre, grant awards from Community Foundation for Southwest Washington, the Rotary Club of Longview, and the Kelso Public Schools Foundation. Family Concert: Flavors of Spain Sunday, February 2, 2025, 3:00 p.m. Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts, 1231 Vandercook Way, Longview, WA This concert includes all of the music from the Children’s Concert and more. The camp will be directed by local experienced conductors and coaches and is geared for experienced musicians in middle school and high school (grades 6-12).
